As promised few days ago, there are more photos from brony events I’ve visited last year – because what are photos for, if you never show them to anypony? Here they are!

The rest of this post are personal notes – more of a blog of thoughts that I would like to share because most of the last year events were the breaking points of the last decade, full of ponies and Magic of Friendship. Aside European events, I’ve visited BABScon 2025 – the final year, surrounded by dramas, but for me… much more eventful, than expected.

Primary, it was the place where a lot of ancient (10+ years) story lines through brony fandom where I was involved wrapped up nicely, with smile and unexpected kiss on top of that 😉 

Meeting and talking to friends, fellow organizers and bronies in general, sometimes in very unexpected way, made it all the last-year highlight:

• Phauxe and Krystal, it was great to see you after so many years! When we randomly met at the con bar 7 years ago at WCPC in Chicago, I did not expect we had a chance to meet again. Especially, because that was one of the con visits I’ve kept for myself.
• Fellow organizers of PonyFest Online Lycan and Kate who I never met IRL before, mainly because we live on the opposite sides of this planet. Great to meet you in person even just for a short time!
• A chance to hang out with Maz and Bexi from UKPC – thanks for your time and a chance to talk outside the rush of events we organize. I am grateful for the chance to get to know you better. Hope we’ll had a chance to do this again 🙂
• All the fun and support from Renard, the “partner in crime” for this whole trip – you made it more than 120% cooler, my friend!
• A chance to talk with guests and other fandom contributors was simply amazing – I won’t go to details, but there were many great and heartwarming moments that restored my faith in the Magic of Friendship. My many thanks to every single of you I had a chance to talk to!
• Black hole room party, because that’s where my universes interleave – drinking blood wine and partying with Klingons while cosplaying Fluttershy is just the ultimate fun experience unlike any other! Qapla’ and yay 😉

There were more, but it would make this post too long – but even in this short form, it gives the photos another level of meaning: there are many stories behind all of this, some of them hidden in the plain sight. Writing this post kind of made me realize how deep and for how long some events within the brony fandom goes – usually, one or two happens but here… that was the grand orchestra and I’m proud to play and still playing my part in all of this. I wish I could share all that experience with you because it’s simply amazing.

European MLP conventions season 2026 begins soon and it’s going to be full of events! And here comes the first content updates of this site in 2026 – tadaaa!

• UK PonyCon 2026 announced the date and place: 30th October – 1st November in Leicester – now included in the Event Calendar
• description of Nessie, the mascot of BronyScot was described incorrectly – thanks anonymous person for reporting this! Updated info includes the Nessie reference sheet made by GreenflyArt
• added reference sheet for Miss Libussa, the mascot of Czequestria (by MesuYoru)
• found some problems with used plugins – all reported to plugin authors, workarounds implemented
• deleted photos as requested by people for privacy reasons – this queue is now empty

As many photographers, I’m notoriously late with publishing photos from MLP events, so it’s time to fix this, step by step: three new galleries from my camera are now online:

• GalaCon 2025
• UK PonyCon 2025

I have photos from PonyCon Holland, BABSCon and TwilightMeet 2025 sorted and they will be published soon! For me, this half of a year is filled by Czequestria preparations (hope to see you there!), so that’s a motivation to have this finished as soon as possible.

There is still some time before we all rush in and have fun together, but I cant wait to see you again, anywhere in the Europe 🙂

MLP convention season in Europe is over, with PonyCon Holland wrapping it up for 2025. Now it’s time for meetups, especially the Christmas ones – these are happening all over the continent, mostly in local groups. It’s a welcome change after big busy conventions, just to chill out.

Well… not for me, because aside Czequestria preparations, our team prepares one of these pre-Christmas brony meetups called Winter Karaoke Party in Prague 🙂 if you visit such a meetup, be sure to say thanks to organizer folks, who never rest in order to deliver us the proper Pony kind of Christmas.

Anyway… the end of year means also start planning the conventions visit for next year so enjoy the updated Event Calendar for year 2026!

What changes and news are expected in 2026?

It’s going to be a busy year, also because of the hype around next possible steps of Hasbro regarding the future of My Little Pony. Regardless of that: 

• A new MLP convention NorseHorseCon is happening in Denmark for the very first time – I’m as curious as you are and plan to visit it!
• BronyScot is back to the con scene! It will take place in Glasgow just one week after NorseHorseCon.
• Kucykon in Warsaw, has a new website also in English, so now it’s more accessible for foreign visitors (on my list to visit it again).
• Czequestria takes place in 2026 again in Prague. With GalaCon moved from mid-summer to the beginning of September, those two are just 2 weeks apart.
• (Probably not just) this also led Hop’s Featherfest to switch to the 2-years cycle. So, when Czequestria does not take place, Hop’s Featherfest will happen at a similar time of the year (and vice versa).

Personal note: the almost-gone 2025 was super intense for me – it started very negatively, ended very positively (with the personal breaking point at UK PonyCon), so it makes one thing certain: life is full of events in the brony community, regardless of the number of years since last new MLP episode aired 😉

Just 9 days and another archive item is published! Is that an Academy Record? Considering number of materials to process, definitely yes!

Second GalaCon in 2013 was a big milestone for MLP:FiM conventions on European continent – it moved to a big fancy venue in Ludwigsburg and set many standards followed until today which are kind of expected by attendees, not just at GalaCon: VIP show guests, concerts of brony musicians, many vendor stalls, fun charity auction and opportunities for new friendships regardless the country borders or language.

For many reasons, this was a brony fandom game changer for many people, because this event expanded the horizon not just for MLP, but also for life. A step to unknown with friends and ponies aside.

From my own experience: we organized our own bus with dozens of CZ/SK bronies going from Prague to Ludwigsburg (we joked about it when returning from GalaCon 2012), going through the big MLP event with fans from all over Europe and first money ever spent in Charity auction for a silly item: a hug with Peter New. On top of that, the following visit of Andrea Libman in Prague became a “fun story from a MLP con” being told until nowadays.

Two months of news silence – yeah, reporting site bugfixes and fulfilled requests from people are boring, so I keep those for bigger updates, like the one today. Totally understandable, that people don’t want to be quoted alongside with ponies (main reported reason is possible job issues), but it takes some time to implement these changes, especially when the person is credited at many places. So this is done.

About the promised big update: do you know which anniversary we have today? Exactly 13 years ago started the first MLP:FiM convention in Europe and that was GalaCon 2012 followed by BUCK 2012 just in few days!

So now you can take a deep dive to the very beginning of the European brony conventions and see how one of the biggest and longest running MLP conventions started – the GalaCon 2012 archive is now online! With the photos never published before and re-uploaded videos that vanished from the Internet over the ages.

Also if you attended this brony start like I did, enjoy the memories from the times, where we had only two seasons of G4 ponies and enthusiasm, that was shaking the whole Internet in its boots 😉

We did not know what awaited us, but on this day 13 years ago we laid the foundation of many friendships that last to this day! /)
